Shelby Thompson,Math/Science
Ms. Shelby Thompson started with South Pointe High School during our 19/20 school year. She is currently on as a Math and Science teacher. She believes that helping students develop a passion for STEM is important because it guides social awareness, and science is all around us, all the time.
Ms. Thompson was born and raised in a very small town in central Illinois, on the borders of Iowa and Missouri. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, but actually completed a double-major in both Biology and Spanish. The highlight of her college career was studying abroad in Cuenca, Ecuador the Spring semester of her Junior year, where she studied the Spanish language and interned at Amaru Zoo and Biopark on the outskirts of the city. Ms. Thompson moved to Arizona in 2018 with her fiancé, Joey. Together they have one dog, Leo, and two cats, Baker and Myles, that run their house. Ms. Thompson loves to spend her free time cooking, exploring, and going to the dog park, but will never turn down a lazy day at home. Contact Shelby Thompson by email. < Back to staff listing |
