Andrea Glenn, College & Career Counselor
Mrs. Glenn is our College & Career Readiness Counselor. An alumni from Arizona State University, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Social Work, Mrs. Glenn moved to Miami, Florida as part of Teach for America, teaching 10th and 11th grade English. Mrs. Glenn moved back to Phoenix, Arizona and was one of the founding members, starting the first Public Allies Program, based out of Arizona State University Lodestar Center.
This will be her eighteenth year in education, with her experience ranging from teaching 7th grader to university students. Mrs. Glenn has a strong affinity to serving first-generation college bound students and their families, ensuring they get to and through college. She is passionate about working in communities of color and creating lasting partnerships that will help bridge the student achievement gap. Mrs. Glenn is honored to be able to return to South Pointe High School, where she previously implemented a Service Learning Program for Juniors and Seniors in 2010 and continue serving students and families by creating a pathway for their future. "Don't ask kids what they want to be when they grow up. Ask them what problems do they want solve. This changes the conversation from who do I want to work for to what do I need to learn in order to be able to do that." Jaime Casap |
